This course is aimed at clients who have a conviction, have some understanding of the implications but need help accessing the workplace and contacts who can support them.
Objectives:
Clients would gain confidence and would be more pro-active in sourcing employment and relevant opportunities
Course includes:

Disclosure Workshop
Duration: 3 hours
Target group:
Clients who have any type of conviction, are unsure of the implications, and feel this conviction is preventing them applying for work.
Objective:
Clients will gain understanding of Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, be able to work out if their own convictions are ‘spent’ or unspent. They will learn when they have to disclose and the implications of not disclosing. They will be provided with examples of a disclosure letter and be able to write a simple disclosure for themselves.

Disclosure Workshop Level 2
Duration: 3 hours
Target group:
This would be aimed at clients who need more in depth support because they want to apply for work which definitely requires disclosing e.g. care work or working with young people. Clients would need the level of understanding gained in Workshop 1 and would need to have been screened so that they know they are eligible to apply for this type of work.
Objectives:
Client would understand the implications of their own conviction, be able to write an in depth disclosure and understand how to approach employers and which other networks they need to access for support

Employability Workshop
Duration: 3 hours
Target group:
This would be aimed at clients who have crimimal convictions and need support returning to employment. Clients need to be motivated and be confident using the internet. Those who have

Client will learn the skills needed to search for work independently, and gain an understanding of how to approach employers and disclose their conviction. The client would understand the implications of their own conviction, be able to write an in depth disclosure and understand how to approach employers and which other networks they need to access for support

Working with Offenders
Helping professionals who are new to working with offenders and would like to build an understanding of the criminal justice system and how to help offenders with the barriers that they face.
